DESCRIPTION
The main duties include:
• Creating new assessments as well as updating all details of existing assessments
• Instalment maintenance through updating debt and overdue listings
• Processing and receipting of payments
• Adjustment accounting
• Levy Processing
• Producing notices
• Responding to all rates enquiries
REQUIREMENTS
Key skills and experience include:
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Local Government rating and revenue processes including: Rating structures and Levying; Processing Supplementary Valuations; Debt Recovery, etc
• In depth knowledge of the relevant legislation (including the Local Government Act 1993 and associated Regulations, Valuation of Land Act 1916
• Experience in managing the operations of a Council Rating/Revenue function and provision of authoritative advice to Senior Management and the Council.
• Thorough understanding of Debt Recovery and credit management processes and procedures.
• Advanced computer skills and particularly of Civica Authority
Previous relevant Local Government experience in NSW in related positions is an essential requirement for the positions.
Assignments are generally for at least 1 to 3 months and possibly longer.
Accommodation and travel reimbursement will be available for country assignments if you live beyond reasonable daily commuting distance.
